About Us
When he graduated from LSU in 1976, Bill Long received a gift desktop valet with a tiger painted on the lid. He used (and treasured) that valet every day for 33 years, first as a letter box and more recently as a cell phone/electroic device charging station. Now, competemplating retirement from teaching, he has established TigerBoxes for the purpose of creating high quality hardwood valets, boxes, and original art for LSU alumni, friends and fans. All of our LSU valets and boxes are hand-made by Louisiana craftsmen from premium woods, including mahogany, walnut, oak, cypress or cedar. Each unique box has an original art etcing depicting LSU. An artist, and writer, Dr. Long designed the LSU premier legacy valet and the smaller TigerBoxes, obtained licensure from the Collegiate Licensing Company and LSU, and engaged a team of incredible Louisiana artists-craftsmen to work with him to make the ultimate legacy TigerBox.
Dave Sanderson is a world-class wood artist who provides most of the beautiful original artwork for LSUBoxes. Dave has won first place prizes for his entries in international competition. The LSU Legacy Desktop Valet
FOUR DIFFERENT WOOD CHOICES. The LSU Legacy Valet (16.5” x 15.5”) comes in five different woods: cedar, cherry, mahogany, oak or walnut. These woods are the highest quality available. Our cedar comes from North Louisiana. We acquire walnut, cherry, and oak from various American suppliers. Because mahogany must be imported, TigerBoxes has a limited supply and a longer delivery time for magogany units. We use one-half inch solid wood for every component. There is absolutely no plywood or articial materials in TigerBoxes. Each valet and jewelry box has a limited supplied of legalart and each is signed by the artist and numbered.
In addition to personalizing your valet with two lines of type on a solid brass plate, you can choose to have one of four LSU insignia etched on to the lid of our valet. The art on valet shown above (Growling Tiger) was created by TigerBoxes and approved by LSU for use by TigerBoxes. This valet is made from solid oak, with an aromatic cedar bottom.
WARRANTY. All legacy TigerBoxes carry a lifetime warranty. If any TigerBox product has a defect or if it breaks from normal use, please return the item to us. We will make necessary adjustments and return it to you within 30 days at no cost to you.
The Small Tiger Box
This box measures 8x8 inches. When you order a Tiger Box you may request either a machine-engraved or an original pyrographic (wood etched) LSU tiger or tower image. All small Tiger Boxes are made of aromatic southern cedar. |
